About Us

Hi, I’m TePania — the heart, hands, and a little bit of the chaos behind TLC Scents & Design.

My creative journey began in 2009 when I first started making candles at home. I spent years learning, testing, and perfecting my craft before I ever sold a single thing. As life unfolded, I was blessed with four beautiful children, and when my eldest was diagnosed with ASD, working a traditional job became incredibly challenging. Being present for my family became my priority — and that’s when this little hobby of mine grew into something much bigger.

By 2015, I took the leap and began selling to friends and family. My kitchen and dining table were always covered in candles and melts (and yes… the house smelled AMAZING). Creating has always been more than just making products — it’s my therapy, my outlet, and my way of sharing comfort and meaning with others. One of my greatest honours has been creating memorial candles for grieving families. Being trusted with such emotional, personal pieces is something I treasure deeply.

As TLC grew, so did my passion for making unique, sentimental, and joy-filled creations. By 2019, my little venture expanded into vinyl decals, custom art, tumblers, clothing, novelty soaps, sublimation, DTF printing, Snowglobe tumblers, DIY kits — and now 3D printing. What started as a kitchen-table hustle is now a full commercial printing business, supporting not only my own family but other small businesses with high-quality, in-house printed goods.

Alongside all of this, I’ve discovered something even deeper about myself: I believe creativity is therapy. Art heals, comforts, and gives people a voice when words feel heavy. Because of this, I’m currently studying a Diploma in Counselling with a dream of becoming an Expressive Therapist. My goal is to use creativity and hands-on art to help others process emotions, feel seen, and walk away with something meaningful they’ve created — a piece of themselves reflected in their art.

Every item I make, every print I design, and every session I hope to offer in the future is rooted in that same belief: that creativity changes lives.
